| Reverse description | A sinuous snake rendered in fine relief dominates the central field, its body coiled and poised in a dynamic pose symbolic of the Lunar Year of the Snake. The large Chinese character 蛇 (snake) is prominently displayed above the serpent design, accompanied by the English inscription YEAR OF THE SNAKE. The weight and purity designation 5oz .9999 Au appears within the design, and the engraver's initials BS are present in the field. |

| Additional information |
The Year of the Snake is the sixth animal in the twelve-year lunar cycle, and 2025 marks the first Snake year to fall under a new British monarch in over six decades. The Royal Australian Mint's high-denomination lunar issues at this weight — a troy five-ounce format — are struck in comparatively small numbers, with collector demand concentrated almost entirely in Australian and East Asian markets.
This is also the first full lunar series to feature Charles III's effigy, making 2025 issues the inaugural Snake entry under his portrait.
