| Obverse description | Teal and olive-green note with an elaborate guilloche border framing the central design. To the right of centre, an intaglio vignette of Mercury — the Roman deity of commerce — wearing a winged helmet is rendered in fine engraving. The left side carries a large ornate underprint rosette as a security element, flanked by Chinese characters reading 香港有利銀行 in vertical panels on both lateral margins. The date, serial number, and manuscript signature of the Manager appear in the lower portion, with the place and date of issue reading Hong Kong, 26th May 1959. |

| Reverse description | Printed entirely in teal-green, the reverse is dominated by a central vignette of a grand Chinese ceremonial stone gateway (paifang), rendered with architectural precision and flanked by trees, set against a lightly guilloche-patterned sky. A blank octagonal panel to the right provides a security space, while the four corners each carry the denomination numeral 500 in ornamental cartouches. The bank name and denomination appear as typeset legends across the upper and lower registers. |
