| Reverse description | The gold centre depicts a detailed architectural rendering of the Bank Al-Maghrib headquarters building in three-quarter perspective, with arched windows and Moroccan architectural details shown in relief. The dual date 2009-1959 appears in the field below the building, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the bank's founding. The denomination 500 in large numerals is inscribed in the lower portion of the gold centre, flanked by the Arabic درهم and Latin DIRHAMS. The silver outer ring carries a bilingual commemorative legend in Arabic above and French below, reading الذكرى الخمسون لتأسيس بنك المغرب and 50ème ANNIVERSAIRE DE LA CREATION DE BANK AL-MAGHRIB, separated by small lozenge ornaments. |

| Additional information |
This issue commemorates the tenth anniversary of Mohammed VI's accession to the Moroccan throne, following the death of Hassan II in July 1999. The bimetallic format — gold centre, silver ring — was a deliberate choice to position the coin above Morocco's existing commemorative output and signal the relative prosperity of the reign's first decade. Bank Al-Maghrib issued it in strictly limited quantities, and it was never intended for general circulation.
