Obverse description The coat of arms of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina occupies the upper central field, depicting a shield charged with a diagonal bend and six fleurs-de-lis, supported by stylized flame-like mantling on either side. Below the shield, a detailed rendering of the historic Old Bridge (Stari Most) of Mostar spans the lower field, flanked by its characteristic stone towers. The circular legend REPUBLIKA BOSNA I HERCEGOVINA runs along the upper periphery, with the date 1996 inscribed at the bottom between two small decorative stars. The Pobjoy Mint mark PM appears in the lower field near the date.
