| Obverse description | The obverse features the national coat of arms of Rwanda at centre, comprising a shield decorated with a knot motif, flanked by a sorghum stalk to the left and an olive branch to the right, all supported by an interlaced rope knot below. A radiant sun appears above the shield, with a banner inscribed REPUBLIKA Y'U RWANDA arching over it. The legend BANKI NASIYONALI Y'U RWANDA curves along the upper rim, while AMAFARANGA 500 MAGANA ATANU is inscribed along the lower rim. The motto UBUMWE UMURIMO GUKUNDA IGIHUGU appears on a scroll at the base of the arms. |
