| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Rwanda is displayed centrally within a series of concentric circular rings, rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field. The shield bears the traditional Rwandan emblems including a sun, sorghum, and a traditional basket, supported by knotted ropes and surmounted by the national motto on a ribbon. The upper legend reads BANKI NKURU Y'U RWANDA, with the date 2011 to the right and the fineness mark AG 999 to the left.
