| Obverse description | Printed on pink paper with a waffle-pattern underprint, the obverse is set in letterpress Gothic (Fraktur) script throughout. The upper border carries the motto "Not kennt kein Gebot!" in pale underprint, while the main text body states the promise of payment of Fünfhunderttausend Mark in Reichsbanknoten, issued by Die Stadtgemeinde Pfullendorf and dated Pfullendorf, den 18. August 1923. At lower left, an oval municipal seal of the Stadtgemeinde Pfullendorf is impressed in violet ink, flanked by two manuscript signatures — one for Der Gemeinderat and one for Für die Kontrolle: Stadtverrechnung — above a redemption notice in small type; the denomination "Fünfhunderttausend Mark" is repeated vertically along both lateral margins. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is printed on the same pink paper and occupies the full field with a large engraved panoramic vignette of the town of Pfullendorf reproduced from a historical copper-engraved view, with agricultural figures and cattle in the foreground and the town's skyline — dominated by a church tower — in the middle distance. Two scrolled cartouches in the upper corners carry numbered keys identifying landmarks of the town. Below the vignette, columns of Latin and German text flank a small circular coat-of-arms vignette at centre, and the denomination "500 000 Mark" is set in large numerals at the foot of the note, with a manuscript signature at lower right. |
