Obverse description Cream-toned letterpress Notgeld note enclosed within an ornate scrollwork border of interlocking foliate motifs printed in blue-grey, with a vertical red guilloche rosette underprint band running centrally across the face. The heading 'GUTSCHEIN' is set in large Gothic blackletter at the top, followed by the issuing authority name and obligation text in Fraktur script, with the denomination '500 000,- Mk.' in bold blackletter numerals at centre and the written amount 'Fünfhunderttausend Mark' directly below. The place-and-date line 'Hannover-Linden, 10. August 1923' and the board signature of the Kreissparkasse appear at lower left, while a red serial number with letter prefix is printed at the right margin.
