| Obverse description | Dark brown and olive letterpress on cream paper, centred on the Baden coat of arms surmounted by a spread eagle and flanked by two ribbon banderoles bearing the issuer name BADISCHE BANK in large Gothic lettering. A circular guilloche medallion beneath the arms carries the watermark zone inscribed BADISCHE BANK, with payment-obligation and counterfeiting-warning cartouches to either side of the central vignette. The denomination MARK 500000 MARK runs along the upper border and FÜNFHUNDERT TAUSEND along the foot, accompanied by the place of issue MANNHEIM, date 1.
