| Obverse description | Green-tinted notgeld on a fine guilloche underprint with a diamond-pattern border running the full perimeter. The large numeral '500.000' occupies a central oval cartouche in heavy Gothic letterpress, flanked on either side by the redemption clause 'Einzulösen bei der Kreissparkasse Hofgeismar'. The heading 'Kreis Hofgeismar' appears at the top in bold blackletter, with the issue date 'Hofgeismar, 11. Aug. 1923' at lower left and the authorising body 'Der Kreisausschuß:' followed by manuscript signatures at lower right; the serial number and letter designation 'Buchstabe B' are positioned at upper corners. |
