| Obverse description | Letterpress-printed Notgeld in dark blue on pale buff paper, with a decorative border of interlaced chain and floral corner ornaments enclosing the entire face. The town arms of Klingenberg — a shield charged with a cartwheel, surmounted by a mural crown — appear as a central vignette above the denomination numeral '500,000 Mk.' rendered in large bold type, with the value spelled out in full as 'Fünfhunderttausend Mark' below a guilloche band. The issue date 'Klingenberg, den 10. August 1923' is printed at the foot between signature lines captioned 'Bürgermeister' and 'Stadtkassier', with a single manuscript signature present on the Stadtkassier line. |
