| Obverse description | Black letterpress on pale green-tinted paper, with a central vignette of a crowned equestrian knight in armour holding a lance, set within an oval guilloche frame flanked by the large numeral value split as '500' and '000' on either side. The denomination 'Fünfhundert tausend Mark' is inscribed in Gothic script across the upper banner, while two oval cartouches below carry the payment pledge text and the issue date 'Düsseldorf, 15. Juli 1923' with the signature of the Oberbürgermeister.
