| Obverse description | Brown letterpress note on cream paper with an overall crosshatch guilloche underprint across the right-hand panel. A narrow left panel carries the denomination tablet reading '500 000 Mk.' above the municipal arms of Düren — a quartered shield with eagle and lion — and the issuing authority inscription 'Stadt Düren 1923'. The main field bears the denomination in large Fraktur script 'Fünfhunderttausend Mark', a red serial number in the upper section, and a multi-line German legal text attesting coverage by Reichsschatzanweisungen, dated 'Düren, den 8. August 1923', and signed by the Oberbürgermeister with a manuscript signature. |

| Obverse lettering | Dieser Gutschein über Fünfhunderttausend Mark ist durch Hinterlegung von Reichsschatzanweisungen gedeckt. Er wird von den kommunalen Kassen und Sparkassen, sowie den Banken des Kreises Düren in Zahlung genommen. Der Schein verliert seine Gültigkeit mit Ablauf einer Woche nach Aufruf in den Dürener Zeitungen. Die Stadtgemeinde Düren haftet für die Einlösung. Düren, den 8. August 1923.
