Obverse description The obverse is printed in green on a light ground of intricate guilloche underprint patterns. At left centre, a circular vignette carries the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe logo with the Zimbabwe Bird at its centre, surrounded by the bank's name. The denomination numeral '500 000' appears at all four corners, with the central text block bearing the bearer cheque obligation in letterpress, the issue date of 1st July 2007, and an expiry of 30th June 2008. A facsimile signature of the Governor, Dr. G. Gono, appears below the logo at lower left.

Reverse description The reverse is rendered entirely in green intaglio on a guilloche underprint ground. At centre, an oval vignette contains a finely engraved scene of a herd of African elephants moving through savannah grassland, with a large bull elephant dominant in the foreground and two smaller animals behind. The denomination numeral '500 000' is placed at upper left and lower right, with the issuer's name in bold letterpress across the top.
