China's rectangular lunar silver issues have been produced since 2015, and the format carries a premium specifically because the dies must be individually prepared for the non-circular planchet — a significantly more labor-intensive process than standard round coinage. The 2019 Pig issue falls in the final year of what collectors consider the first complete rectangular lunar cycle, which adds modest but genuine collecting pressure to the series as a whole.
