Additional information

The 2016 Chinese Lunar Series II 50 Yuan Monkey issue marks the second time the People's Bank of China cycled through the twelve-animal sequence in silver, the first Lunar Series having concluded in 2011. Mintage was capped at 60,000 pieces — tight by Chinese commemorative standards, where some gold panda issues have seen production runs exceeding ten times that figure.

The 155.52g specification corresponds to exactly 5 troy ounces, a weight the People's Bank has standardized for its flagship rectangular silver commemoratives since the early 2000s.
