Reverse description A finely detailed bronze crane (仙鹤), a traditional imperial symbol of longevity and good fortune, is depicted in the central field. The crane is shown against a backdrop of a rising sun with radiating rays and stylized auspicious clouds rendered in the classical Chinese artistic tradition. Above the crane, an imperial roof ridge ornament known as Da Wen (大吻), a chimera-like decorative finial characteristic of Forbidden City architecture, is prominently featured. The curved legend 紫禁城建成600年 (The 600th Anniversary of the Forbidden City) arcs along the upper periphery, with the denomination 50元 appearing at the lower portion of the field.
