Obverse description Central depiction of the Temple of Heaven (天坛) in Beijing, rendered in fine detail with its characteristic triple-tiered circular marble terrace and ceremonial stairways in the foreground. The domed hall rises prominently in the center of the coin's field. The inscription 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) arcs along the upper periphery in Chinese characters. The date 1995 appears in the lower exergue in Arabic numerals.
