Obverse description The national emblem of the People's Republic of China occupies the central field, depicting Tiananmen Gate surmounted by five stars — one large star flanked by four smaller ones — all within a wreath of grain ears encircling a cogwheel at the base. The legend 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) arcs along the upper periphery in Chinese characters, while the date 2023 appears in the lower exergue. The design is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field.

Additional information

Issued to mark the formal establishment of China's Giant Panda National Park, which was officially designated in October 2021 after absorbing 67 existing nature reserves across Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu provinces. The consolidation ended decades of fragmented habitat management that had kept wild panda populations genetically isolated from one another.

The 3g format has been a fixture of the Chinese Panda bullion series since denominations were restructured in 2016, when China abandoned the troy ounce standard in favor of metric weights — a deliberate move to distinguish domestic issues from Western bullion conventions.
