The Bank of Chinan (晨農銀行) was a regional institution operating in Japanese-occupied northern China, issuing currency under the Wang Jingwei collaborationist framework that controlled much of occupied territory from Nanjing. By 1945 the military and economic situation had deteriorated sharply, and much of the currency printed in this final period never reached meaningful circulation before Japan's surrender in August rendered the entire issuing apparatus defunct.
This is a front proof — printed for approval rather than release — which means it almost certainly predates any circulated examples of the type, and may have been the only stage this denomination reached before the war ended.
