| Obverse description | Three draped female busts in three-quarter view facing slightly left, center, and slightly right respectively, each with traditionally styled hair; the left figure wears a pendant necklace, the right figure wears a multi-strand pearl necklace. The busts are displayed on a common truncation line across the lower field. The legend QUỐC-GIA VIỆT-NAM arcs across the upper field, and the date 1953 appears in the lower field flanked by two small privy marks. The entire design is enclosed within a decorative scalloped inner border. |
