Obverse description The central vignette presents the National Monument at Savar (Jatiyo Smritisoudho) in intaglio, its characteristic tapering spires rising against a lightly tinted sky, with a caption in Bengali script below. The issuer's name in Bengali appears at the top left, accompanied by the denomination in Bengali text, a legal tender clause, and the Governor's manuscript signature over a printed title. The whole composition is set against a pink and teal guilloche underprint with ornate foliate scroll borders along both lateral margins.

Comments

The P#28 series spans nearly a decade and three governors — Nurul Islam, Shegufta Bakth, and Khorshed Alam — with the Khorshed Alam issues alone subdivided by serial digit count and character height, distinctions that matter considerably to type collectors. The shift from a 7-digit to 8-digit serial format under Alam reflects straightforward expansion of the numbering space, not a redesign.

The printed date of 30 April 1945 is clearly erroneous metadata and should not be taken as an issue or print date for any note in this series.
