Obverse description The state coat of arms of the People's Republic of Bulgaria is depicted centrally within a beaded inner circle, featuring a rampant lion on a shield flanked by two wheat sheaves tied at the base by a ribbon bearing the date IX 1944, surmounted by a five-pointed star. The curved legend НАРОДНА РЕПУБЛИКА arcs across the upper field and БЪЛГАРИЯ across the lower field, separated at each side by a small five-pointed star, all within a beaded border.

Reverse description The large numeral '50' dominates the upper central field in bold relief, with the Cyrillic denomination СТОТИНКИ inscribed beneath in a straight legend across the centre. Two stylised wheat or olive branches flank the design symmetrically on either side, curving from the lower field upward. The four-digit mint year 1962 is positioned in the lower field, with the entire design enclosed within a beaded border.
