Obverse description The central vignette carries an allegorical figure of Liberty, rendered in intaglio, with the denomination numeral "50" repeated in all four corners and to either side of the vignette. The issuer's name is set in letterpress along the upper margin, while the denomination in full words appears below the central device. The date "20 de Agosto de 1965" and reference to Law No. 13958 are inscribed in the lower portion of the note.

(Translation: Central Reserve Bank of Peru will pay to the bearer 50 50 Fifty Soles de Oro in accordance with Law No. 13,958 Lima, 20/08/1965)
Reverse description The Peruvian national coat of arms forms the central vignette, set against a fine guilloche underprint. The denomination numeral "50" is repeated in all four corners and flanks the arms on either side, while the issuer's name runs along the upper margin and the denomination in words appears below the central device.
