Reverse description Central device depicts a frontal effigy of an Egyptian pharaoh rendered in the manner of Tutankhamun, wearing the nemes headdress with lappets falling to either side, and holding the crook and flail crossed over the chest. The figure is framed by a decorative inner border of alternating triangular serrations. The legend GOLD OF THE PHARAOHS arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 50 SHILLINGS is inscribed along the lower border, all in raised Latin lettering. Two cartouche-shaped devices flank the central effigy in the inner field.
