| Obverse description | The Somali national arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield charged with a central five-pointed star, supported on either side by leopards rampant, with crossed palm fronds below on a ribbon base. The legend SOMALI REPUBLIC arcs along the upper periphery, while the date 2017 is split across the lower left and right fields flanking the arms. The denomination 50 SHILLINGS appears in the exergue along the lower rim. The design is executed in high relief against a mirror-polished field. |
