| Obverse description | To the right, an intaglio-engraved oval medallion contains a portrait of a young boy — Hubert Sterrer, son of designer Karl Sterrer — set within elaborate foliate and scroll ornamental borders. To the left, the denomination "50" appears at upper and lower corners flanking a central vignette with the bank title in Gothic script and the issue date; the Austrian eagle coat of arms is visible in the upper centre, and three facsimile signatures appear below the central text panel. A guilloche underprint in pale tones fills the background throughout. |
