| Reverse description | The reverse carries an equally detailed natural history vignette: at left, a Ceylon Kangaroo Lizard (Otocryptis weigmanni), known locally as Pinum Katussa, is set against a foreground of Vesak orchid blossoms (Dendrobium mccarthiae). The central and right portions of the design are dominated by a pair of Ceylon spurfowl (Galloperdix bicalcarata) set within a scenic composition incorporating the Ayurvedic ironwood tree (Mesua thwaitesii). Bank name and denomination appear in all three scripts across the upper and lower margins. |
