Bradbury Wilkinson printed for the Central Bank of Ceylon across multiple series, but by 1977 the political pressure to replace "Ceylon" with "Sri Lanka" on currency was already years old — the republic had renamed itself in 1972. This note therefore circulated under a name the government had officially abandoned, a lag that was never fully resolved before the series was retired.

P#81 is the final type in the Ceylon-named 50 Rupee sequence before Sri Lanka-branded issues took over completely. Watermark security only, no thread.
