Obverse description At center, the Lion Capital of Ashoka — India's national emblem — depicted in high relief, showing three lions passant guardant atop an abacus bearing the Dharma Chakra flanked by a horse and a bull. Beneath the emblem, the national motto 'सत्यमेव जयते' (Satyameva Jayate) is inscribed in Devanagari script, followed by the large denomination numeral '50' in the lower field. The legend 'भारत' in Devanagari and 'INDIA' in Latin script appear to the left and right respectively along the rim, with '50 RUPEES' completing the circular border legend.
