The Ural Cossack Army issued its own currency during the Russian Civil War as the regional Cossack government fought to maintain independence from both the Bolsheviks and, nominally, the central White command. These notes circulated within a shrinking territory — by late 1919, Bolshevik pressure had effectively collapsed the Ural Cossack resistance, and most of the surviving leadership fled across the Caspian.
Short circulation window, chaotic redemption conditions, and a small issuing population keep genuine examples relatively uncommon. The S-prefix Pick designation confirms provisional wartime status.
