| Obverse description | A highly detailed frontal view of the Bolshoi Theatre building occupies the central field, rendered in fine relief with its characteristic eight-column portico, pediment, and the famous quadriga sculpture group visible above the main entrance. The Cyrillic legend БОЛЬШОЙ ТЕАТР arcs along the upper periphery of the coin. Below the architectural motif, the stylized Cyrillic inscription СССР (USSR) is rendered in an ornate cursive script, flanked to the left by the Leningrad Mint monogram and to the right by the date 1991. The denomination 50 РУБЛЕЙ appears in the lower field, with the fineness and weight indicators Au 585 and 7.78 positioned symmetrically on either side. |

| Reverse description | A dynamic full-figure depiction of a ballerina in mid-performance occupies the central field, shown in an arabesque pose with one leg extended fully behind her and both arms raised, one holding a bouquet of flowers aloft and the other extended gracefully to the side. The dancer wears a classic tutu with elaborately detailed ruffled skirts, rendered with exceptional sculptural relief against a smooth, polished background. A decorative floral motif appears in the lower right of the field. The Cyrillic legend РУССКИЙ БАЛЕТ (Russian Ballet) is inscribed in a stylized script along the right periphery of the coin. |
