Obverse description At the centre of the obverse, within a raised beaded circle, appears the emblem of the Bank of Russia: a double-headed eagle with wings lowered, rendered in fine relief against the polished field. A semicircular Cyrillic legend БАНК РОССИИ (Bank of Russia) is inscribed beneath the eagle. Along the upper rim, outside the beaded border, runs the denomination legend ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ РУБЛЕЙ (Fifty Roubles), while the date 2006 appears at the lower rim. The metal purity designation Au 999 is inscribed to the left of the central device, and the fine metal content in grams together with the Moscow Mint mark ММД appear to the right.
