| Obverse description | Central device features the Sudanese state eagle displayed, with wings spread, bearing a shield on its breast and a scroll inscribed with the national motto below. The dual dates 1392 (AH) and 1972 (AD) flank the eagle in the field, with the Hijri date to the right and the Gregorian date to the left. A circular Arabic legend arcs above, reading the third anniversary of the May 25th Revolution, and a further legend curves along the lower rim identifying the Democratic Republic of the Sudan. The coin is bordered by a continuous beaded rim. |
