| Additional information |
Issued to commemorate EgyptAir's status as Africa's oldest continuously operating airline, founded in 1932 as Misr Airwork in partnership with the British Airwork Limited before being nationalized in 1961 under Nasser. The commemorative 50 qirsh series — of which this is one entry — reflects the Central Bank's ongoing program of circulating bimetallic and plated commemoratives targeting everyday denominations rather than collector-only formats.
