Reverse description The reverse depicts a detailed panoramic scene of the Aswan High Dam diversion works, showing the dam structure with rushing floodwaters cascading through the opened sluices on the left and a tall construction pylon or derrick in the right field, evoking the engineering achievement of the Nile diversion. A radiant rising sun with pronounced rays emerges from the horizon at the upper center, symbolizing a new era. The date '١٥ مايو ١٩٦٤' (15 May 1964) is inscribed in the upper legend in Arabic numerals and script. The lower field carries a two-line Arabic commemorative inscription reading 'تذكار تحويل مجرى نهر النيل' (Commemoration of the Diversion of the Nile River). The design is contained within a reeded border.
