Reverse description Dynamic high-relief depiction of Saint George, clad in armour and a flowing cape, mounted on a rearing horse and brandishing a raised sword, positioned above a large vanquished dragon prostrate in the lower field. The composition follows the classical tradition established by Benedetto Pistrucci, here reinterpreted by Jody Clark with bold sculptural depth suited to the large-format proof flan. The engraver's initials JC are present in the right field. The curved legend GEORGE & DRAGON arcs along the upper left periphery, with FIFTY POUNDS continuing along the upper right, all within a reeded border.
