Obverse description Central vignette of a farmer guiding a horse-drawn plough across a field, rendered in fine intaglio engraving in violet and purple tones against a pale guilloche underprint. The denomination £50 appears in large numerals at lower left and lower right, with the issuing authority title THE BANK OF IRELAND in bold letterpress along the lower centre.
