Obverse description Central vignette of the Mameluk tombs at Cairo with a camel caravan passing in the foreground, framed by elaborate guilloche rosettes and lathe-work scrollwork. The denomination numeral '50' appears in large intaglio figures at left and right, with the issuer title 'NATIONAL BANK OF EGYPT' across the top and the English promise-to-pay clause below.
