Comments

Motion Props produced this piece for film and television use, where legal restrictions in the UK require prop currency to differ visibly from genuine Bank of England notes. The Boulton and Watt theme borrows the imagery of the genuine 2011 series £50 — the note that eventually replaced the Houblon issue — but the "Motion Props" imprint and other deliberate deviations satisfy the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act 1981's requirements for prop money.

The 2010 date is notable: the actual Bank of England Boulton and Watt £50 wasn't issued until November 2011, meaning this prop predates the note it imitates.
