The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has issued commemorative overprints on circulating peso notes for various institutions and anniversaries since the 1990s, and this 2013 piece for Trinity University of Asia falls squarely into that category. These notes are printed at the BSP's own Security Plant Complex in Quezon City — one of relatively few central banks in Southeast Asia that handles full intaglio production in-house — and are generally released in limited quantities direct to the commissioning institution, meaning they rarely enter general circulation.
Trinity University of Asia, located in Quezon City, traces its origins to the Trinity College of Quezon City founded in 1963 under Episcopal Church auspices.
