Additional information

Issued to commemorate the 1976 Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group, held in Manila that October — the first time either institution had convened in Asia. The Marcos government treated the hosting as an international legitimacy exercise, pouring resources into infrastructure and ceremonial production around the event.

Mintage was modest and distribution largely confined to official channels and the numismatic market, meaning genuine circulation wear is essentially nonexistent on survivors.
