Obverse description The obverse is printed in shades of red and pink, with a central vignette of Sergio Osmeña, the fourth President of the Philippines, in three-quarter left-facing portrait. To the right, the official seal of the Republic of the Philippines and a secondary vignette illustrate the Leyte Landing of October 1944. Two signature facsimiles appear beneath the seal, with the denominal numeral 50 in the lower right corner. The top inscription reads REPUBLIKA NG PILIPINAS over a secondary legend in Filipino identifying the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, with LIMAMPUNG PISO along the lower margin.

Reverse description The reverse is rendered in tones of pink and rose, centred on a panoramic landscape vignette of Taal Lake and Taal Volcano in Batangas, with a cartographic underprint of the Luzon coastline to the left. Three silver-grey milkfish (bangus) are depicted in the foreground as the principal fauna motif. The denomination numeral 50 appears at upper left and lower right, with the inscription LIMAMPUNG PISO along the lower margin.
