| Obverse description | Red and black Notgeld on cream paper, with a central oval vignette in letterpress rendering the Leuchtenburg castle perched atop a wooded hillside against a cloud-filled sky, flanked by large denomination numerals '50' at upper left and right on a red ground. Below the vignette, the text 'Gutschein der Leuchtenburg-Wirtschaft' is set in bold Gothic script alongside a manuscript signature, with a further line reading 'Dieser Schein wird auch bei der Bank f. Thüringen Kahla eingelöst.' The inscription 'SERIE 1, GRUPPE C.' appears at the top margin, and the printer's imprint 'Himmer, Augsburg.' is noted at the lower left. |

Leuchtenburg-Wirtschaft was the restaurant and hospitality operation attached to Leuchtenburg castle above Kahla — a private commercial enterprise, not a municipal authority. This note is Notgeld in the strictest sense: issued to address the small-change shortage that plagued German retail and hospitality businesses during the 1920s inflation period, not as a collector series. J. P. Himmer of Augsburg, a printer with deep roots in Bavarian commercial printing, produced the sheet. Georg Thage's signature identifies the responsible signatory at the issuing business.
