Obverse description The obverse is divided into three vertical panels on a tan ground with red and black multicolour printing. The central panel carries a bust-length portrait vignette of Martin Rinckart (1586–1649), the Lutheran clergyman and hymnist associated with Eilenburg, rendered in fine line engraving style. Flanking panels each display the Eilenburg civic coat of arms within scrollwork cartouches, with the denomination '50 Pf.' repeated in each corner. Below the panels, the issuer inscription appears in ornate red Gothic script, with two facsimile manuscript signatures of the Magistrat, and the printer's imprint 'LIERSCH.' at lower left.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in red and black on a tan ground, with a central rectangular vignette in line-art style illustrating the lying-in-state of King Gustav Adolf of Sweden on 26 November 1632 at the inn 'Zum Roten Hirsch' in Eilenburg, with armoured guardsmen and mourning figures flanking a bier set with tall candles. The denomination 'Fünfzig / 50 / Pfennig' appears in bold red and black numerals on both left and right margins. A two-line caption at the foot identifies the historical scene, and the validity date is inscribed in Gothic script across the top.
Reverse lettering Dieser Gutschein gilt bis zum 30. September 1921.
