Obverse description Black and green letterpress Notgeld on a green guilloche underprint with a scalloped central cartouche. The denomination "Fünfzig Pfennige" is rendered in Gothic Fraktur script at centre, flanked by "50" numerals and "Pf" at the corners. Issue date, validity clause, serial number, official stamp, and two manuscript signatures of Der Magistrat appear in the lower portion.

Reverse description Green and black letterpress vignette centred on the Aschersleben town hall, a multi-gabled Renaissance structure with a prominent tower, set against a dark stippled sky with the year "1920" above. Flanking cornucopias of flowers adorn the left and right margins, and a scrolled ribbon banner below the vignette carries the town name in Gothic lettering. Denomination numerals "50" and "Pf" appear at each upper corner over a fine guilloche underprint.
