Obverse description Cream-toned notgeld printed in red and black, with the denomination numeral '50' in large red Gothic lettering at upper left and right, flanking a central vignette of the Friedrichroda town arms showing a uniformed figure holding a torch and a branch of foliage. The lower half carries a multi-line letterpress inscription in Fraktur script announcing the occasion of the 1st Thuringian Agricultural, Industrial and Trade Exhibition in Friedrichroda, 11 to 25 September 1921, with a validity clause at lower left and a facsimile mayoral signature at lower right.

Reverse description Vivid multicolour vignette printed in a chromolithographic style, occupying nearly the full field within a green and black border, showing the Friedrichroda parish church as it appeared circa 1850, with a tall clock tower surmounted by a pointed steeple and cross, set against a blue sky with white clouds; a serial number is stamped in black at upper right. A white ribbon cartouche at the base bears the caption in Fraktur script.
