| Obverse description | Cream-toned notgeld printed in red and black, with the denomination '50' in large red Gothic numerals at upper left and upper right, below which 'Pfennig' appears in bold red letterpress on each side. At centre top, the Friedrichroda civic arms vignette presents a standing figure in uniform holding a torch and a tree branch. The lower half carries a Gothic-script text band across three lines announcing the occasion of issue, flanked by decorative red ornamental borders. A validity clause in small script appears at lower left, and the issuing authority 'Der Stadtrat' with a manuscript signature ('Bürgermeister') is inscribed at right. |
