Additional information

Strasburg in the Uckermark — not to be confused with Alsatian Strasbourg — is a small Brandenburg town that issued iron notgeld during the First World War when copper and nickel were requisitioned for weapons production. Iron coinage from municipal issuers of this period corrodes readily, and surviving examples in unrusted condition are considerably harder to find than mintage figures alone would suggest.
