| Obverse description | Pearl border surrounds the entire face, with the circular legend EISENMOORBAD SCHMIEDEBERG punctuated by a five-pointed star at the base. A twisted rope circle frames the central device, which depicts the municipal coat of arms of Schmiedeberg: a fortified castle gateway with three towers, the central tower taller and surmounted by a spired roof, flanked by two crenellated towers, the whole set above a heraldic base with diagonal hatching representing a water or field motif. The design is rendered in a bold, utilitarian relief characteristic of German Notgeld coinage of the early Weimar period. |
